AVS

The Association of Veterinary Students

The Association of Veterinary Students (AVS) is the ‘voice’ of vet-students in the UK and Ireland. We are involved in every aspect of a vet-students life including EMS, education, welfare-issues and we also organise two massive events each year – AVS Sports Weekend and AVS Congress!

Basically AVS is here to support vet-students and make sure you are able to have your say with regards to how the course is run and what improvements can be made to make your life at university even better!

Each vet-school has a senior and junior AVS representative who is able to pass on your ideas and concerns to the Executive AVS Committee, who then act to improve your life at vet-school. If you have anything which you would like passed on to the AVS Committee just get in touch with either Tom McGregor (senior) or Izzie Buxton (junior) and we will make sure you get to have your say!

AVS is involved in a whole range of areas, from student/animal welfare to education and beyond so anything you want to change/improve is important to us.

Remember to take part in AVS events, they are a great way of meeting other vet-students not just at your school but also other universities. We run welfare-days, bar-crawls, debates and MORE so please come along and get involved!

Being a member of Vet Soc automatically means you’re a member of AVS, so sign up and look out for more information from your AVS reps soon or visit www.avs-uk.org.uk
