Sutton Bonington Tough Farmer
Our mud run style event saw groups of students tackle a 5km obstacle course, including horse jumps, paddling pool 'sheep-dips' and welly throwing! It was hugely successful raising an amazing £260 for Papworth Hospital and we hope to have even more participants and raise even more money in 2016.
Vet Ball 2015 - SkyBall
Nottingham Veterinary Society’s 7th annual Vet Ball took place on 16th January and was once again hosted at the stunning Kelham Hall. The beautiful venue features a magnificent Byzantine style brick dome,which was beautifully decorated for the James Bond theme. Amongst the 500 guests were students, staff, clinical associates and representatives from the Society’s sponsors Vets4Pets. The evening consisted of a drinks reception with a tour of the Victorian mansion’s grand rooms, a 3-course black tie dinner, and entertainment by a fantastic live band followed by a DJ set.
Noel Fitzpatrick 'Bionic Vet' Clinical Club Talk
On Wednesday 26th February, Noel Fitzpatrick (a.k.a. the 'Bionic Vet') visited Nottingham to deliver an inspiring and motivational talk to over 380 students and members of staff. Noel presented his cutting edge advancements in orthopaedic surgery and discussed the fundamentals of the 'one medicine' concept. The talk ended with a 1.5 hour question and answer session which delved deep into the ethics and morals surrounding Noel's work. The talk was filmed for a project that Noel is working on, so watch this space!
